Coming soon to a Dumpster near you
So, those of you who went to see Episode III already -- did you get your copy of that new collectible movie mag? According to the press release, the 2.5 million copies might be gone from theaters in less than 24 hours. It didn't say where they might have gone to.
Just in case you didn't go to a Loew's, Cinemark, or Carmike theater, or they were already out of stock, not to worry, you can download a pdf version from the mag's website, assuming you want to waste 4.3 MB of perfectly good bandwidth. Methinks my virtual copy is headed for my virtual Dumpster.

While I applaud That Company That Must Not Be Named for their efforts with this magazine, I have doubts it will go anywhere. As you hinted, they're producing dumpster fodder at best. To be blunt, I doubt it's going to get them out of the whole they've dug for themselves.
I read it, hoping to find something of value. My apologies to the folks who worked hard on it, but all I could find was fluff. A timeline with such riveting tidbits as Carrie Fisher hosting SNL? An invitation to vote on who's the baddest sci-fi villian? (Shades of "Who would win, Enterprise or the Executor".) A comparison of the characters to high school stereotypes? Shilling for ThankYouGeorge, ShufflePods, and BattleBands? A few shallow interviews didn't make we want to save it as a souvenir, and I didn't even bother to read the additional content on the website.
I've gazed at the sites for ShufflePods and BattleBands. What's next? WarrenWafers?
Is that anything like bullcookies?
Dunno.
What about How to Host a Bankruptcy?
