From the stacks
When I visit the local library, I'm usually looking for something specific, but then come home with a highly eclectic mix of books that I happened upon while browsing the stacks, that just caught my eye for some reason. Here's a sample of what I brought home on a recent excursion looking for information on thyroid disorders:
- The Complete Thyroid Book (plus three other books on the topic, but this was the only one that was useful)
- Expert Resumes for Computer and Web Jobs
- My Point...and I Do Have One (Ellen DeGeneres)
- Kitchen Junk (about kitchen kitsch from flea markets and tag sales)
- When You're Up to Your Ass in Alligators: More Urban Folklore from the Paperwork Empire
- The New York/Mid-Atlantic Gardener's Book of Lists
- Clive Cussler and Dirk Pitt Revealed
- A Flame in Hali (Marion Zimmer Bradley & Deborah Ross)
I'll pick up just about anything at the library. Sometimes they're good and sometimes they're awful, but they're free. (Yeah, I know, our taxes pay for them, but I'll pay the taxes whether I use the library or not.)
