Currently in Virginia Beach...

86° F

Feels like 97° F
Dewpoint: 77° F
Humidity: 75%
Cloudy

Or to put it another way, too damned hot and humid to be mowing the lawn, which I just did. Not to mention that the lawn wasn't dry, which is kind of a no-no with an electric mower. And I wouldn't have except, thanks to the deluge a couple days ago, patches were approaching the point where the local grass patrol will be citing me. And it's supposed to be in the friggin' 90s for the next 5 days, with thunderstorms possible every day. So I figured I'd better get it done now before it gets worse. I think it took all of 20 minutes (that's for the front yard; the backyard is already a lost cause) and I was literally soaking wet.

Excuse me while I collapse on the couch for the rest of the day. Must... have... ice water...

I do sympathize. For the last roughly 10 days or so, it's mid mid- to high 90s here in Denver every single day. But with the lower (virtually non-existent humidity), I'll wager it's a whole lot better than the weather you've suffered.

I've been noting (with sympathy) the heat out west when I watch the Weather Channel reports. But if our 86 feels like 97, then I guess we're about equal. Though I'd prefer that my glasses didn't fog up when I step outside to pick up the morning newspaper off the driveway.

I'll bet you're glad not to have to worry about hurricane season any more. :-)
