Flashback
Key people from the company where I'm currently employed are attending a major trade show at the San Diego Convention Center this week, and our CEO sent back a batch of photos from their booth setup and the first days of the conference. Browsed through them this morning and experienced an overwhelming "con" flashback.
While I never made it to Comic-Con (so the venue itself didn't mean anything to me), from '97 through '04 I attended a dozen or so Origins and Gen Cons (and one Spiel), mostly as part of The Company's team. One look at the CEO's photos and it all came rushing back -- shipping crates, booth setup, towers, signs and banners, long aisles of other companies' booths, "working the booth" after the convention opened... it was all there. In fact, my first thought was that the photos looked remarkably like the ones I used to take documenting the convention experience for The Company's website.
My second thought was, "OMG, I'm so glad I don't have to do all that any more!"
