A fork in the road
Having worked as a chemist for around 30 years, with a year and a half of that being in a paper mill, I have seen plenty of both forklifts and flammables storage cabinets. Until last week, however, I had never seen a forklift trundling a flammables cabinet around. Now such a sight, in itself, still isn't what one might call particularly unusual -- except that said forklift was driving down a city street, Viking Drive to be precise. That little piece of Viking Drive pictured, to be even more precise, which happens to be just a few feet north of the Avenger/Viking intersection.
Granted, it's not a terribly busy street... and I would guess the forklift was only traversing the short interval between the buildings of a company that has two facilities, one on each side of Viking. But forklifts... street-legal? Who knew?
The cabinet blocked the driver's view, so he had to peek around it to see where he was going. Unlike the illustrated cabinet, the one on the forklift had its door closed, so unfortunately I couldn't tell if it actually contained any flammables.
On second thought, I don't really want to know.
