Basic training
So, school's in session. My Blackboard account became available on Wednesday, not long after my community college email was reactivated. I blew the dust off my Visual Basic textbook from the first course -- they use the same text for both VB.NET I and II -- only to discover that the book is now in its 3rd edition, making my 2nd edition technically obsolete.
But... the instructor says I can probably get by with the older edition, though I'm going to need to go to a class session and compare my text to his to note page number changes and any other potential problems. Considering that he posts PowerPoint presentations online that appear to be part of the auxiliary instructor's materials for the textbook, I think I can manage. It's certainly worth the extra trouble if I can avoid buying another $90+ textbook. They're using Visual Studio 2005 now instead of 2003, but I already got the upgrade last year, so no problem there.
And tonight I sat down and did the first programming problem without even reading the chapter assignment. Only nine more assignments and two multiple-guess tests to go...
