Sale, Event, or Bash?

You can tell when a long holiday weekend is coming up; the Thursday newspaper, usually bereft of sale flyers, is full of them advertising the [UPCOMING HOLIDAY] WEEKEND SALE! Shall I go to the plain ol' "Memorial Day Sale" at Sears, or the slightly more upscale "Memorial Day Savings Event" at Home Depot (which includes a "5-Day Million Gallon Paint Event")? Or maybe, if I'm going for an "event," I should check out Lowe's "Backyard Living Event." And then there's the "Beach Bash" at A&N. So many choices, so little money.
