So, what part of NO don't you understand?
In Virginia Beach, there are all kinds of things you can't do, especially at the oceanfront. On my latest walk to the beach, I encountered a sign prohibiting no less than five no-nos.
What really caught ny eye about this sign was the obscurity of some of the "icons". Now, the red circle with a slash -- OK, that's arguably a universally recognized "Don't Do This!" symbol. The question then comes down to, "Don't do what?" The one up by the first paragraph (I'll call that #1) is pretty clear; no fires. And this one here (#2), no vehicles (although it might mean, more specifically, "No Jeeps").
This one (#3) seems to have something to do with an animal -- a dog, maybe. But there's also a person there. Perhaps it prohibits dogs from taking their humans to the beach. Now that's a smart idea; you let those humans onto the beach, and they just drop cigarette butts everywhere.
And what are we to make of this one (#4)? No skiing? No hula-dancing? No waving? No walking on water?
But IMO, the prize for obscurity goes to this one (#5). On the right is a person, that much is clear. The large black lump is a different story. It could be anything from a compost pile to a coffin. Hell, maybe it means "No sand castles."
Just for laughs, tell us in a comment your interpretation of any of these icons (refer to the numbers I gave them). Later I'll post the whole sign so you can see just what part of NO you didn't understand.
Oh, and if you already know exactly what these icons mean (say, because you live(d) in Virginia Beach and have seen the signs yourself), please refrain from spoiling the fun.

It's a stretch, maybe, but #5 looks like it could be "no mowing the lawn."
Well, #5 is clearly no camping but I like the idea that it is no grave digging ;) Please, do not body dump on the beach.
You have seen this, I trust?
