Heading Down East

... for my first real vacation in at least 12 years. As those of you who have checked off the northern New England states on your lifetime travel list may know, "Down East" means Maine. Going to visit home and a college roommate I haven't seen for 20 years, then on to Ithaca, New York (my home for 25 years) before returning to good ol' Virginia Beach. I'm looking at 1800 or so miles on the road (my back aches already), and I don't want to think about how much I'm going to spend on gas.

Not taking the laptop; I stopped doing that when I stopped travelling for The Company. So there's going to be a dearth of posts on this blog for the next nine days -- but then, how's that any different from the usual? Hopefully I'll come back with a lot of photos and some bloggin' fodder.

Until then, I'll really be in hinterspace.

Geez. How can you NOT take the laptop? I think my brain would melt.

Have fun!
