A Dance With Dragons: 4 months to go

Fans of George R.R. Martin's A Song of Ice and Fire series have probably already gotten the word that book 5, A Dance With Dragons, is due out in hardcover on September 30th. (In fact, I'm amazed that I beat Dr. Heimlich to mentioning it.) Why, that's not even three years since A Feast For Crows!

Still, a bit more than four more months before we can find out what's happened to the Imp, Arya, Jon Snow, and Daenerys. Even longer for those of us who don't buy hardcovers; I'm going to keep an eye out for the local library to list it as On Order so I can slap a hold on it, hopefully high in the queue. Oh, well, that gives us fans time to reread the first four books. I know I need to refresh my memories of all the rich background and characters. I'm not sure I can even remember who's dead and who's alive.

And if you're not a fan yet, why the heck not?!? Go get A Game of Thrones and start getting up to speed.
